Connecting Science with Society is the Real Challenge for Nuclear Energy in India

As per recent Times of India News Report entitled “Proposed nuclear power project by state sparks fresh concerns in Uttara Kannada”. My comments are as below:
The recent developments like this clearly show that while India is moving forward in nuclear energy, public concerns and local engagement cannot be ignored. Progress must be accompanied by transparency, dialogue, and trust-building at the grassroots and basic level.

India is making rapid achievement in nuclear energy (refer to recent PFBR development), but technology alone is not enough. Public trust, transparency, and community participation are equally important nd essential. In India, the future of nuclear power will depend not just on reactors, but on how well we connect SCIENCE WITH SOCIETY".
We must actively engage the younger generation. Schools, colleges, and universities should introduce 'NUCLEAR SCIENCE' through simple experiments, interactive sessions, lab visits, and internships. When students understand the science, its safety aspects, and its real-world benefits, right from clean energy to medical therapies, they are more likely to develop informed and factually correct opinions, not the fears.
